Lorenzo Buffa Quintet is the materialisation of Lorenzo’s own musical idea. Attentive to the contemporary jazz scene, as well as the overall improvised music environment, LEx brings together an extremely energetic sound and an heartwarming melody driven mix. Inspired by artists such as Ambrose Akinmusire and Joel Ross, Lorenzo’s quintet finds its own identity thanks to the complicity among all the band members. The striking southern European sound brought by Lucas on the saxophone and supported by Massimo on guitar meets the mysterious colour of Xia Jia’s piano, resonating in the warm and earthy drumming of Guy. Together they give shape to a complete set of original music that is bound to captivate the listener through its liveliness and passion. The group is now working towards the recording of their first album which will be ready in the near future.
